- Der Brandpilz wurde in Deutschland bisher nur ein einziges Mal in Zerbst in Sachsen-Anhalt gefunden. Der von Paul Kummer (ohne Jahresangabe) gesammelte Beleg stammt wahrscheinlich aus dem 19. Jahrhundert (Scholz & Scholz 1988). Nachsuchen in Zerbst und auch an Orten mit ähnlichen Standortbedingungen blieben bisher erfolglos (Kruse et al. 2018).
