- Für die Erhaltung des Pilzes besteht möglicherweise eine erhöhte Verantwortlichkeit aufgrund seiner spezifischen Bindung an Carpinus betulus in Europa. Für die Erhaltung dieser Baumart besteht nach Metzing et al. (2018) eine Verantwortlichkeit Deutschlands in hohem Maße. Klärungsbedarf besteht u.a. bezüglich der Artzugehörigkeiten, Areale und Häufigkeiten von Melampsoridium spp. an Carpinus spp. in Asien und Japan (vgl. Kaneko & Hiratsuka 1983).
