- Die taxonomische Abgrenzung von Geophilus studeri gegenüber G. alpinus (Spelda 1991) wurde bisher nur für Deutschland geklärt. Daher ist das Gesamtverbreitungsgebiet neu zu definieren.

- G. studeri wurde in den südlichen und westlichen Teilen Südwestdeutschlands nachgewiesen und bevorzugt dort Wälder in montanen Lagen.
