- Abweichend von Ludwig et al. (1996) werden keine infraspezifischen Taxa unterschieden, Didymodon mamillosus (Crundw.) M.O. Hill wird als alpine, stumpfblättrige Form hier einbezogen (s. Kučera 2000). D. validus sensu typi kommt nicht in Deutschand vor (J. Kučera pers. Mitt.).
