- Parlibellus protractoides wurde im Jahr 2000 als eigenständige Art beschrieben und zuvor nicht von P. protracta (Grunow) Witkowski et al. differenziert. Zu Grunde liegt hier das Artkonzept im Sinne von Hofmann et al. (2013), Fig. 50: 11-17..
