- Der taxonomische Status ist unklar. Trautner et al. (1997, 1998) und Müller-Motzfeld et al. (2004) führen das Taxon als Unterart von Oreonebria castanea (Bonelli, 1810), Huber in Müller-Motzfeld (2006) fasst es als Unterart der Art Oreonebria picea (Dejean, 1826) auf, und Ledoux & Roux (2005) führen es als eigenständige Art.
