Comment on taxonomy
Die Art besteht nach jüngsten Erkenntnissen eigentlich aus einem Komplex zweier Arten, die vorläufig als Dipturus cf. flossada (Blue Skate) und Dipturus cf. intermedia (Flapper Skate) bezeichnet werden. Die Artbeschreibungen stehen jedoch noch aus, so dass im Rahmen dieser Roten Liste beide Arten unter Dipturus batis geführt werden
