- Der Name Russula atropurpurea (Krombh.) Britzelm. 1893 ist illegitim, da Peck bereits 1888 ein Taxon als R. atropurpurea Peck beschrieben hat. Für R. atropurpurea (Krombh.) Britzelm. sollte besser der Name R. bresadolae Schulzer verwendet werden.
