Trotz einer deutlich positiven Bestandsentwicklung muss der Wolf immer noch als „Gefährdet“ eingestuft werden. Hauptgefährdungsursachen sind Verluste im Straßenverkehr sowie illegale Tötungen (vgl. DBBW 2018).
