- Comment on taxonomy
- Bradshaw et al. (2021) wiesen nach, dass es sich bei den früher auf Varietätsrang getrennten var. ehrenbergii und var. lonicerae um klar getrennte, eigenständige Arten handelt. Beide gehören zur Erysiphe lonicerae-Gruppe und werden hier etwas anders abgegrenzt als bisher (z.B. in Klenke & Scholler 2015). Ob die einzige Angabe aus Deutschland zu einem Erysiphe-Befall auf Lonicera involucrata (nur Anamorphe) zu der ansonsten nicht aus Deutschland bekannten E. flexibilis M. Bradshaw, U. Braun & S. Takam. oder zu E. ehrenbergii gehört, ist nach Bradshaw et al. (2021), die den Beleg nur morphologisch untersuchten, unklar. Lonicera implexa wird in der Arbeit als Wirt nicht genannt. Beide Wirte werden deshalb nur provisorisch zu den Matrices der E. lonicerae-Gruppe gestellt.
