- Kommt sehr lokal auf Kalkmagerrasen vor, fehlt aber weiträumig auch in diesen Habitaten. Die verbliebenen Populationen sind durch Sukzession gefährdet.

- Die Larven leben nahe dem Boden zwischen versponnenen Blättern von Inula conyza, I. hirta und Satureja spp. (Hasenfuss 1960, Gaedike 1980).
