- Der Pilz befindet sich vermutlich mit seinem Wirt Carex humilis in Abnahme.

- Der erstmals 2002 in Deutschland nachgewiesene Pilz wurde vorher vermutlich übersehen oder mit anderen Rostpilzen an C. humilis verwechselt. Er wird als indigen eingestuft. Die Art ist wärmeliebend.
